A School Counseling Program is built on a strong foundation consisting of beliefs, a philosophy and mission. The belief, philosophy and mission of a school counseling program should represent: -the school's goals for student achievement

- A determination of how every student will benefit from the school counseling program

Beliefs & Philosophy: * Describes the program's purpose and goals; should align with and be a subset of the school's mission statement.
Mission:A counseling mission statement should consist of the assurance of equal access and opportunity for every
student to succeed, academically as well as personally/socially. School counselors serve as student advocates to ensure that every student will receive the best support possible in order to afford the very best opportunities to succeed. School counselors collaborate with other counselors, teachers, parents, agencies, etc. and make use of every resource available to provide the best opportunities, alternatives, and solutions. |
